Hunt Dates

We book six hunts a year on a first come first serve basis.  We will only have three hunters in camp at a time.  We will release the dates of the season once they are released from NC Wildlife Resource Commission.  We hunt the first week of the first season (typically the 1st or 2nd full week in Nov.)

Licensing

You must purchase your license through NC Wildlife Resources Commission website. Individuals hunting bear must purchase a “Bear Management E-Stamp.”

  • The Bear Management E-Stamp is an electronic stamp required in addition to a hunting license, big game privilege license, and nonresident bear license (if applicable) to hunt bear in North Carolina. It is not a physical stamp.
  • The e-stamp may be purchased from July 1 until the close bear season and expire on June 30 of each year.
  • The e-stamp is $11

Processing

Caping and quartering are included in your hunt.  If you would prefer to ship the meat and hide, we will do so for the cost of the Fed-Ex overnight fee.  Meat donation is also available for a $500 fee.

If you do not have a preferred taxidermist, we have great references.

Gratuities

First, they are not expected only much appreciated!  The guides and hospitality team are there to ensure you have an exceptional hunting experience.  Your appreciation of the experience is reflected through your tip.  There is not a norm, regarding how to compute.  We believe 5% is a fair minimum, anything north of that will be that much more appreciated.

Travel

Hunters have 3 options for arriving at Cypress Park. The first is to drive.  The second is to fly commercial, rent a vehicle, and have a 2-3 hour drive. The third option is flying private into the Hyde Co. airport (7W6).  In all cases, clients are responsible for all travel costs of getting to Cypress Park (outside of us picking you up from the Hyde Co. airport).  Cypress Park is adjacent to the Hyde Co. airport, making it a six minute commute from airport to Lodge.
